Early Cancer Detection Test: DR-70
A simple blood test enables the measurement of multiple types of cancer with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity. The test is non-invasive, inexpensive and in clinical trials has shown to be able to detect at least 13 types of cancer. It helps physicians with early cancer detection and diagnosis. [

Cancer Markers:

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)
It is associated with digestive tract cancers (eg of the colon) as well as other malignant and non-malignant disorders. Those who are prone to bleeding piles, hemorrhoids, constipation or sudden change in bowel habits should seek medical advice from the doctor about further investigations or regular monitoring. Smokers tend to have higher levels than non-smokers. Elevated values should be confirmed by repeating test in 1 to 2 months time.

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)
(PSA) levels are elevated in prostate cancers and sometimes enlarged prostate conditions (eg BPH) or prostatitis. It is important to note that if detected early, prostate cancer is often curable. All males above the age of 40 with or without symptoms of prostate problems are advised to test once yearly.

Cancer-Associated Antigen, Ovarian Tumor (CA-125)
Elevated CA 125 values are often associated with cancer of the ovaries. However non-malignant conditions such as endometriosis , first semester pregnancy, ovarian cysts or pelvic inflammatory disease can also cause elevated CA 125 levels.

Cancer-Associated Antigen, Breast Tumor
(CA 15-3)

A powerful prognostic indicator in patients with advanced breast cancer. Highly useful in monitoring bone metastasis in patients with breast cancer. Besides breast cancer, other non-malignant conditions (eg cirrhosis, benign diseases of ovaries & breast) have also been known to cause elevated CA 15.3 levels.

Cancer-Associated Antigen,
Gastrointestinal (CA 19-9)
CA 19.9 is mainly associated with colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancers and its levels are best evaluated along with CEA test. Sometimes increased values have also been observed in those patients with metastasis and in non-malignant conditions eg hepatitis, cirrhosis, pancreatitis.

Alpha-Fetoprotein, Human Cord Serum (hAFP)
(AFP) levels are often elevated in liver cancers (hepatocellular) and testicular cancers (non-seminomatous). Raised levels are also present during preganancy or some gastrointestinal cancers. AFP is also used in combination with other tests as a screening test for open neural tube defects.

Neuron-specific Enolase (NSE)
A useful tumor marker for starting and monitoring treatment of patients with small cell lung cancer. It detects recurrent disease and metastatic spread long before other diagnostic methods.
